Sandy Breslow, Sr. Director
With 20 years of medical education and executive management, Sandy oversees the daily operations and helps work on strategic partnerships, management and research initiatives that help Elsevier Office of Continuing Medical Education and our education partners deliver excellence in continuing medical education. In addition, Sandy helps the program management team identify and implement strategic goals to ensure success with respect to partnerships, process and accreditation boards. Her knowledge of CME/CE issues and organizations comes from many years of senior operational and financial management positions within medical education and communication companies and accredited providers. She is skilled in working within both domestic and global markets resulting in an extensive understanding that drives a focused and calculated approach to managing the continuing medical education business. Sandy received her B.S. from the Philadelphia University.
Anne Symons, Director, Accreditation and Outcomes
Anne Symons, CHCP, is Director, Accreditation and Outcomes. Under her guidance Elsevier Office of CME earned Accreditation with Commendation from the ACCME. Anne has seven years of experience in the accreditation field as the Manager of Education and Accreditation at the Colorado Medical Society (part of the ACCME accreditation system). Before joining Elsevier she managed a robust department of Medical Education at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She became a Certified Healthcare CPD (Continuous Professional Development) Professional in 2008 and has been continuously certified since then. Anne is a longtime member of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions. She became a Distinguished Member in 2011 and is working toward becoming an Alliance Fellow. Mentoring and teaching are areas of professional interest for Anne.
Kim Joab, Project Manager
Kim Joab comes to Elsevier with over 15 years of experience including project and brand management, direct mail and marketing communications. In prior positions, Kim worked with several companies in the healthcare industry, including Roche Diagnostics, IU Health, Community Health Network, 3M Medical and FORCE Communications. As a project manager, Kim utilizes her strong interpersonal and organizational skills to facilitate cooperation among cross-functional project teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and per specifications. Kim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Leah Johnson, Project Manager
Leah Johnson is a project manager with the Elsevier Office of CME. She comes to Elsevier with over 5 years of project management experience in medical communications and higher education. As a project manager, Leah collaborates with various partners to implement effective educational activities. Leah graduated with her Bachelor of Art degree in Journalism from Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana.
Tara Frate, Project Manager
Tara focuses on submitting grant funding requests for potential CME activities and enjoys the detail and organizational skills required to function in this role. She has been a project manager with various companies for over 10 years, with 7 of those being in the medical education field. Tara graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
